Democrats are poised to lock in the party’s 2028 presidential nominating schedule on Friday, likely cementing a dramatic break from decades of tradition by keeping Iowa off the top of the calendar and elevating more racially diverse states.
Either South Carolina or Nevada is expected to go first, and each state has aggressively campaigned for the coveted spot.
The decision by the Democratic National Committee’s Rules and Bylaws Committee will need to be approved by the full organization, which is scheduled to meet in August.
The overhaul reflects Democrats’ effort to give greater influence to states that better mirror the party’s diverse coalition, particularly Black and Latino voters, after years of a calendar led by Iowa and New Hampshire, two states with overwhelmingly white electorates.

Do Dem voters still think their vote matters when it comes to who the Dem nominee will be?

A big reason they are splitting. The mainstreamers have shown they don't gaf what rank and file Democrats think and now they don't gaf if anyone knows it. They're not even trying to hide it.
They're about to get their own bizarre yet very ineffective dem "MaGA".

The only Latino voters need attention are the one illegally voting as illegal aliens. They need escorted out, the rest can make up their own minds because if they truly wanted a better life it’s not what democrats can give them

2008 was really the last time they even had the appearance of a choice, between Obama and Hillary. 2012 was obviously Obama again, 2016 Hillary had all the super delegates before primary voting even began, 2020 everyone dropped out so Biden could be the nominee, and in 2024 kamala was the nominee without even having a primary. You're right, whoever the democratic party says will be the nominee for 2028 will be their candidate. It is the party of saving democracy after all.

I’m not particularly surprised.
They will use the shite show that was the rat fricked Iowa caucuses from the 2020 race as an excuse because it won’t spit out the Dems’ hand picked candidate.

Why are they even going to bother with primaries? They didn't last time.

Congress needs to pass a law that you are stuck with your nominee until the very end. It's their job to vet their candidate and if they fail to properly do so, it's their problem.
Usurping the nominee process and finding a radical replacement at the last minute b/c your guy sucks shouldn't be legal.
