I’ve heard there was significant gerrymandering by the Republicans in WI in recent years, which was corrected in early 2024. Did you hear that also?

"Corrected"

The state legislative districts were "corrected" by having 6 of them take a slice of Dane county among other anomalies.

They were only "corrected" if you are a dem.

Now they want to gerrymander the districts of congressional reps. They are after Van Orden's for one and it is already a competitive district that was held by a dem for many years before he retired.

It should be noted the GOP controlled legislature did not redraw the lines. The newly liberal state SC threw out the GOP maps and made it clear they would not approve anything not from the governor's own desk.

That is why I have said repeatedly this SC race was more important than the governor's. As soon as they got the court they immediately went to work on gaining seats for the dems.

Hmm. I had heard that the vote was evenly split 50-50 on the state level, but the Republicans won representative seats at a 7-2 rate locally. This was the indication given that the district boundaries were not representative of the voters.

Take a look at where the dems live.

Why should someone living an hour away from Madison have a dem rep when all of his neighbors are repubican.

The dems are NOT spread evenly throughout the state. At all. That is why it is 6-2. My district is actually fairly competitive. Pocan's, Madison, is not in any way shape or form.

You're either extremely misinformed about voter distribution in WI or are simply partisan.

I'll go with number 2.

btw-It's 6-2. Not 7-2.

They don't draw the maps but they end up approving them or throwing them out.

Yo relax - I clearly said I’m not in WI invited someone closer to the situation to comment. I’m not pretending to be extremely informed about voter distribution in WI. Anyway, appreciate the info. No need to get all pissy about it.
