That's why I laugh at the war crimes talk. It's not even that. It's just straight up murder of another country's civilians.
I think this is right. Can’t have war crimes outside of an actual armed conflict (and this is not one).

Military baws seem to be taking the admirals side on social media. I still find it hard to believe the story is 100% factual.
I don't know what to make of it either. What tips me toward believing it happened was both Hegseth and Leavitt's non-denial. Neither of them said the double tap didn't happen. They both said "Everything was done according to the law [as interpreted by some 23 year-old who was shackled to a laptop by Stephen Miller and has his family being threatened]." OK the part in brackets was just speculation.
It was like Homan's non-denial of accepting the $50K. "Mr. Homan, did you receive $50K in a paper bag" "The FBI cleared me of any wrongdoing."
Also, although President Trump is not always precise with his words, I found this interesting
"President Donald Trump said Sunday the administration “will look into” it, but added that “I wouldn’t have wanted that — not a second strike.” He noted that Hegseth told him “he did not order the death of those two men.”
To me, that sounds like the President knows a double tap would have been illegal AND that there were "an additional" two men killed.

Yawn BBond,
I asked you to explain why we have aircraft carriers staged, and shutting down a sovereign nation's airspace, and killing fisherman, oh and following up to assinate any survivors?
And explain a possible land attack that He said might happen.
I don't need history lessons or deflections.

yep, its a little disturbing.
If this is true, Hegseth might as well step down. No one will have confidence in him.

Bill..... sometimes you make sense and sometimes you don't.
Surely you have more sense than to believe that the US doesn't have solid intel of who is and isn't involved in smuggling drugs and who is or isn't members of designated terrorist groups.
The US has the capability to watch and listen to any and everything they choose to.
Just because this information isn't being made public (for obvious reasons) doesn't mean the US military is destroying "innocent fisherman " or
" innocent civilians " .
Please, just stop. Your WAY over your skies on this one son.
Its simple. The mission orders were to destroy the vessel. A second strike was required to do so. Any surviving drug smugglers had zero impact on accomplishing the mission orders.
The general operated within his duty.

You’re an attorney. “What’s the harm” is not an acceptable standard. You are ok with the standard moving forward to open an investigation being an unsourced allegation from the media?
This isn't a legal proceeding. It's part of the Armed Services Committee's duty to oversee the military.

Pivot pivot pivot!!! You may not like it or the reasoning, but the President has the power to legally order these strikes. I’m sorry your cartel buddies are dying running drugs.

Yes, they will, and Trump too, as soon as they have the political power to do so. Possibly they will have the Hague issue arrest warrants for them as they did for Bibi.

Again…you’re an attorney. This isn’t the standard. Not to mention, they did deny doing anything illegal. That’s a denial.

Pure speculation and wishcasting.

Doesn’t change the question. Do you want the standard to be an unsourced allegation from the media?

Source? Also…that helps Hegseth. The mission was to destroy the boat. What’s your next pivot?

Think of how many liberal faux conservatives on here feel the exact same way about the cartels. It’s comical how predictable and ignorant they are
