So what is the solution genius? Elect more big spenders? Continuing to do the same thing over and over. Or actually getting a limited government conservative to actually lead the party.

Terrible point.

Are you suggesting that because Bush and Trump spent like drunken sailors that we should just accept it?

I remember Trump being against the huge Omnibus bills. Rush called them the "Porkulus" bills. Trump did want what is now a pittance for his wall and the GOP refused. The main difference between the spending of GWB, Obama, Biden, and Trump is that Trump caved to the spending bills he opposed. The rest got the the spending they wanted.

Also if we are being really honest, Trump really only had a two(and a half?) year Presidency. The rest was the covid madness.

Whoever becomes POTUS after Trump/Biden/? Is going to have one hell of a mess to clean up.

If it is Trump, The Simpsons have already predicted this.

Lisa Simpson will be president in 2028.

Good luck finding anyone independently enough and with a clean enough past to stand up to anything in DC

I remember Trump being against the huge Omnibus bill

He accepted the large bills in exchange for military spending. He sold out for the deep state.
quote:

“I’ve said to Congress, I will never sign a bill like this again,” Mr. Trump said, calling the legislative process that produced it “ridiculous.”

Hours earlier, the president had threatened to veto the bill and all but guarantee a government shutdown when funding would have expired at midnight Friday.

quote:

He ultimately decided to sign the bill “because of the gains we made for our military,” said the president.

quote:

he package includes more than just money to fight the opioid epidemic, pay the military and fund more than $21 billion in infrastructure projects. It also includes policy changes like one that would incentivize states to enter more records into the country's gun background check system

Why do you think % increases are the best way to track debt increases?
You should look at both percentages and actual dollar amounts because the value of a dollar is less over time and presidents who’ve inherited bigger and bigger debts also inherited bigger and bigger debt interest payments as part of their budget.

Running a $500 billion deficit 25 years ago would’ve been a lot worse than the same dollar amount today because of normal inflation (not Biden-flation) and a much smaller amount of the budget going towards interest payments on previous debt

Pretending the executive branch write and pass spending legislation.

You do know they are actively involved in this process, right?

Its Obama, Trump[ and Biden. They are in a league of their own

Just under the last two, we've had 16 trillion in debt, in 8 years.

Reagan increased it by 186%.

Largely why I don't vote republican any more. We're going towards a cliff. One party wants to drive a little faster, the other a little slower, but we're going over either way.

Keep doing what we've done and we'll keep getting what we've got.

If your business is in huge debt, running a deficit every year, and you can't increase revenue enough to overcome the debtload, how do you save the business?

Specifically, how to you make the business profitable when you can't increase revenue enough to overcome the increasing debtload?

The only reason you vote for Trump is he gave you a year off with additional uneployment.
