When and how did the MAGA base apply pressure? I must have missed it because what I've seen from Trump's fervent base is absolute deference and emotional reactions to criticisms of DT.
Because you only see what you want to see.
Trump booed at his own rally
I remember Open Line Fridays on Rush's show after signing Porkulus bill. A lot of angry people.

If you don't think Trump championed Covid response spending, and in fact lobbied for more spending than Pelosi proposed and that he didn't try to get Thomas Massie primaried for publicly resisting all the ridiculous spending - you're the one with a fricked view of history.
I know exactly what happened. Trump WAS criticized harshly on this board for all of that. At least it was because he cared about the people. States were shutting down their own businesses. He wanted people to be taken care of. We can monday morning QB all day on Covid. I was always a skeptic from day one. I think deep down, Trump was too. He made mistakes.

Stop voting for grifters. Y'all do realize all of this will end in a massive tax increase, dont you?
I vote for who is on the ballot Roger. Its not like I have the choice of voting for Ron Paul or Javier Miliel which I absolutely would do. Its Trump or Biden. Sorry not sorry that im not willing to throw this country back to people that have disdain for me. Of all the negatives Trump has, thats at least not one of them. Im still young and building a business and life, unlike you. I dont want to be in fear of jail because I vocally disagree with the left.

You could cut every agency operating budget by 5% but they will never do it.
Not talking about money paid out to Americans, just each Federal agency operating budget.
Anyone that’s worked in Federal government knows it could be done easily.

We're talking about Trump's fiscal record and positions. Not the vaccines.
Yay, MAGA let it be known the line they draw for Trump is right before injecting something into their body.

Okay, but how many of them supported someone else in the Republican primary? Do you think Trump feels any sort of pressure from his fervent base when he believes he could shoot someone in broad daylight and not lose a single one of them? What does that (stated) belief tell you about the sort of pressure Trump ever feels from his superfans?

No he wasn't. And during the short primary season we just witnessed, Trump's diehards argued until their fingertips bled that Trump did nothing wrong on Covid response.

But then why did he lobby for legislation that gave blue state pension funds $100 billion to shore up their balance sheet?
The Covid relief bills were 75% bullshite spending, and that's after you go soft and agree that fedgov needed to "take care of people."

It's not Monday morning qbing. First, we knew in nearly real time that the virus was not what Trump's CDC was promoting it as being. Second, it didn't take an economist or finance major to realize that spending trillions on Democrat causes, including funding mail-in/harvesting voting efforts, was exactly what it turned out to be.

Entitlements and military are where the cuts have to happen.
If not, they will begin to hike taxes.
We both know what they will choose to do, unfortunately.

If your business is in huge debt, running a deficit every year, and you can't increase revenue enough to overcome the debtload, how do you save the business?
By giving hundreds of billions to Ukraine?

At what point are we going to address the deficit? You can’t continue and expect the tax payers to pay more and more in interest to satisfy the loans

Bush’s debt has a ton to do with wars in the Middle East and defense spending, tsa being formed after 9/11, etc.
Bidens increases are paying off people’s student loans, social programs, things that do not pay dividends to this country.
