Prove it.

I'd Rather he didn't as one of the media that was spewing lies of his own sort to meet his needs for whatever cause.

This Titan of journalism has sent down the word from Mount Pious that a dominant media that advocates for one side of the political spectrum might be harmful?
Yes.
Well, I mean, except for the times HE used to do it himself, of course. Then it was just hunky dory.

The media is liberal because concentration of power makes them more powerful. If power was decentralized nobody would pay network newsreaders millions of dollars because nobody would have to worry about how Washington DC is going to frick them over today. Concentrate power, make the mouthpieces powerful, really easy concept.
If the DOJ would wield the Sherman Anti-Trust act on the media, it would be a start on fixing some of the problems with the media. However, we all know that won't happen with the steaming pile of shite that is head of the DOJ right now.

So, Dan gets 'religion'
...gets back up on his soapbox and tries to convince us ignert dupes that he didn't WORSHIP the same damn machine that he now calls the whole dominant MSM (read Fox) out for. It was fine when he (his Progressive Ideology) held the power...but now...it's corrupt. Dude has some nerve; but then again, his ego and the public perception that he worships is high on his list and I'd expect nothing less.
More Leftist blather from Rather. Half truths...as usual. "Candid"...my arse.

From CBS news? Really?
From any news.
So many of you are so paralyzed by political branding you're incapable of absorbing things their true state.
Not sure what some of you don't get about just 4 conglomerates owning everything that is on tv, radio, and print.
You're not going to hear about the criminal monetary system.
You're not going to hear about the integrated relationship between different industries.
You're not going to hear about how things like military contracts are awarded.
Ect
The news is made extremely lively within a limited spectrum to make you think it's important.
The way this thread has gone is a great indication of how programmed people have become, everyone is crying about liberal bias when there is clearly something much larger to cry about.

different industries have integrated relationships!
Oh my God!!!!

I don't know if Dan Rather is out of touch with reality
It's not that complicated. He's a liar. Like when he said on TV that he was a Marine. He wasn't. And as long as you're gonna lie about being a Marine why not just go ahead and say you were Lt. Colonel?

Rather was the polar opposite of what he claims to be ideal.

He's basically telling you how the industry is, and who runs it.
The guy was far from perfect.
What he said is very true, and very evident in this thread, people literally can not even begin to grasp the powerful effect of just 4 conglomerates owning all forms of media.

So his opinion is your basis, got it! No facts or statistics, his opinion.

I would say who cares about any of that stuff.
Is what he's saying in this interview true or untrue? (Which really isn't a question, what he said is verifiable).
And since it is true, what does that mean? If news is controlled (which is a very different issue than being biased) to keep paradigm shifting information withheld, then our reality is not genuine.

I think a quick google search will confirm for you that just a handful of corporations own the vast majority of all forms of media.
Believe it or not this is common knowledge for a lot of people.
Also, I think a guy who has worked his entire life in the media industry is speaking with more than just opinion when he says that 6 and no more than 4 conglomerates own most all media.

This cannot be said often enough-
frick Dan Rather. After bullying people for years, he turned out to be as crooked as anyone he ever interviewed.
