Does anyone think we’re at the point that, if you don’t have coronavirus now, your risk is lower than it was last week? If not, I wonder what the stats would start to look like to definitively say that.

Deaths come from those that get sent to the ICU. With fewer hospitalizations the fewer that will be in the ICU and that meants fewer deaths down the road.
A decreasing growth rate in confirmed cases means the spread is slowing as a whole across the entire country. There will cotinue to be small spikes here and there in various cities throughout the next couple of months, but nothing that will overwhelm the system.
I know death sucks, but that is a "worthless" stat at this time to track if you want to know what things will look like in 2 weeks. Take the case numbers times about 2 percent and you will get a rough estimate of deaths coming in 14ish days.
When you take out NYC, which has nearly 52% of all confirmed cases in the country, most of the country doesn't even have any impact all besides a few cases here and there.

Cuomo was way in a more positive mood today than other days — he said that the vulnerable should be isolated and he also said he would expect/feel that when a rapid test is available large scale that things would begin to return to normal.
Does he know something? He wasn’t asking for vents. He wasn’t asking for ppe. He was very upbeat.

Right but those on vents currently stand what 50/50, 40/60 chance to get off? I pray that the number put on vents lessens everyday. And I am so sorry for those families that are losing loved ones.

As the Abbott test becomes more widely available all you will need to do is just go to urgent care or family practice for a test and know the results in 15 minutes.
That is why we will still have a college football season, just may not start on time.
They already test for Influenza so now they will just test for COVID19 too.
Just isolate the volunerable (aka old people that are going to be dead in a year or two anyways) and the rest of the country goes back to normal.

I doubt it is nearly that high. I've seen nothing formal, but I think it is more like 20% or 30% of coming off once you go on with this thing.

So I dont wanna start a thread in this but there’s other medical professionals here so I’ll say it here.
I’ve read some autopsy reports where the lungs after expiration from covid pneumonia are “stickier” than other pneumonia.
That commander data poster in the OT said he and his wife would hit each other in the back to “loosen up” the stuff in their lungs to help them breathe.
What are the chances this covid19 creates a cystic fibrosis-like pathology? I’m not suggesting the mechanism is the same but the end result is similar.
I’m wondering if nebulized mucomyst would help or if general CF exacerbation supportive care is warranted (non-antibiotic). Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

There’s other professionals here and I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this. Just wondering what others thoughts are.. this isn’t the only place I’m asking this 
I don’t want to ask a respiratory therapist to go in and give mucomyst without justification because nebulization is a high transmission risk activity. It would be nice to at least feel like I’m not out in left field
