Weren't SALT tax deductions a form of welfare?

Sure were...and for the most part no longer exist....and the blue states are STILL financing the federal government alone with no help from any red states but Texas and Georgia.

SALTdeductions should have been eliminated years ago along with mortgage interest deductions and ALL business expenses....corporate taxes should be based on revenue the same way income is and the only deduction that should be allowed is a deduction for dependents.

Our President did the right thing in eliminating SALT deductions. There is no QUESTION that SALT deductions were a subsidy to blue states and it just wasn't "fair"....but the blue states are still financing the US Government. I live in a state with no income tax and very high local and state taxes that would be SALt deductions. We still send more to DC than we get back.

affirmative action has helped white women more so than any other minority group in America. I know you guys love to hang your hate on that troupe but it’s just not true and to think 50 yrs is enough time to make up centuries of generational accumulation of wealth, land, education, etc is laughable. I just got a notification the other day about the first black student to graduate from LSU law school died or something like that. That’s how recent this “same educational opportunities as whites” has been going on.

Over 40 percent of SNAP recipients are white—Blacks make up 25 percent.

Well what do you know, white people use 40% in a country where they are 70% of the population. Blacks are less than one fifth of the population but are using a fourth of SNAP. Blacks would make up 7% of SNAP if they used it at the same rate as whites, not 1/4 of the whole pie.

Yes, and red states don't want to be forced into Islam and speaking Chinese. It is a symbiotic relationship. Blue states produce wealth, red states produce shite to buy with that wealth, and we all chip in to keep the wolves at bay. It works well. But it doesn't mean that there isn't a lot of dishonesty from the right in red states about being self reliant because they simply aren't...any more than producers in blue states are. None of us built that..Obama was 100% correct. We built it with the aid of our neighbors. We worked our arse of, no doubt, but so does a slave in the ME...the difference is the slave is doing it without any assistance from his neighbors.

Just said why not bailout Blue states like New York when red states like Kentucky are bailed out annually by New York tax payers LOL. Finally, someone with the cajones to point out the incredible refusal of the right to admit most red states take from federal coffers while most Bluestates fill those coffers. No one in a red state that receives more money from Washington than the state sends to Washington has any business talking about being a producer...they are welfare recipients, pure and simple, the same thing as a teen living in Mama and Daddy's house, not paying rent and complaining about the internet speed!

Please link me to the site that shows KY received more Federal funds than they paid in. I'll save you some time, you can't because they didn't.

Funny that you lefties keep screaming this red state shite but have absolutely no problem with someone paying an effective 0% federal tax rate and still receiving a $5K check every year for child tax credits.

You define hypocrite.

What specifically are blue state taxpayers sending money to red states for?

Probably...that's what is a happening. Rich people in blue states are paying for welfare recipients, called "producers" in red states...because the red "state" producers won't foot the bill themselves.

Yes in a fair system where everyone has been on the same playing field since the inception of the system I would expect blacks to line up with the 7% number of recipients—but we all know there was never a fair playing field and thusly we have this

If the coastal elites would let us red states reform and cut welfare programs like we want to then we would be producers. But no y’all love to virtue signal and get daddy Federal Govt to pass out handouts to the “poor” which largely reside in southern states (and most of those vote D).

You wanted it, you can pay for it

Red States only need help to comply with regulatory mandate s from the blues.

Regulations are hidden taxes. Unburden Red states from those and they could get by much cheaper.

That would be like rolling a basketball out onto a court with the white team up 40 points and expecting the black team to catch up with one quarter left to play with the refs and rules geared towards preventing the blacks from even having a chance in the first place.

How y'all going to produce the food without food stamps footing the bill???? The south was backwassward back water when we were in that position.....it was only what, 90 years or so ago? The FDR stepped in, electrified the south and made the region viable. Most farmers couldn't produce squat...enough to feed themselves...if it weren't for federal subsidies. It is a symbiotic relationship....famers need customers, their customers need food. It would be nice if both sides acknowledged that but instead the red state strut about and claim to be rugged, self reliant individuals when in fact they'd be SOL without the rest of the nation just like the rest of the nation would be SOL without them.
