The NPR radio station in Austin, owned by UT, is ranked #1 in market share above all commercial stations. Why should that entity receive one dime of tax support when they are competing for market share against stations that receive no such funding and actually have to pay taxes to support a competitor that is beating them?!?!
UTrans is in Austin.
They are lefty extremists.
They should change their names from Longhorns to Commies

Of course it is, and they can. One of their largest funding sources has always been member contributions. AKA: The tax-paying public.
Individual private donations is not what public broadcasting means, public financing implies government involvement.
What a total fail.

There is no logical justification for the govt to be funding media/broadcasting.
They are not public goods subject to market failure.
If a media org cannot survive without taxpayer funding, it doesn’t deserve to exist

Meh,
Maybe or maybe not.
It could be a thing that's cheap and does good for a lot of people. If it weren't for democrats thinking everything should be a reflection of their broken world view it would be low on my list of things to get rid of.
Unfortunately with democrats expect dogshit.
