Cop not charged with shooting wrong person in Alabama

The person shot was a good guy with a gun as it is described by a lot of people. He had a license for the gun and a permit and was shot 3 times in the back, head, and neck. The AG says he had just cause. Not surprised as the AG always sides with the police in 99% of these cases. Can the police officer at least loose his job and never be allowed to be a police officer again?

Probably because it's justified 99.999% of the time.

There is already a thread on it

Imagine if a legally armed bystander reasonably attempted to protect others by shooting an off-duty cop who brandished a weapon during an incident. Some of the very people here defending the cop in the Alabama situation would be calling for the death penalty in my example, and you damn well better believe the bystander would be charged with a crime. Just admit it, the life of a cop is worth more than the people they are supposed to protect and serve.

Imagine people putting a bullet in the head of another human being for no other reason than he took an oath and put on a uniform...........
Uh....you dont have to imagine.

Do you always use a non-sequitur respond to to posts? Anyone who shoots a cop just because he is a cop would be prosecuted, and everyone here would agree with him being prosecuted. We are discussing someone killing an innocent person and not being prosecuted.

That's different than what he is describing though and he's probably right.
Would a bystander be given the extreme benefit of a doubt?

You missed the "off-duty" part. Has nothing to do with the uniform. Person brandishing a gun and being shot by a legal carrier is the main point...the twist is IF he was an off duty officer the same people defending the cop would be calling for the death penalty. Ask yourself what's different?

Never understood the pedastal mentality among the public.
Must be all those cop shows.
