Election night did not deliver the overwhelming victory Republicans had hoped for on a national level, but on a local level — in school board races — conservatives picked up a wave of wins across the country. This week, conservatives flipped at least nine school boards in at least six states — Michigan, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, and Florida — giving them conservative majorities, according to two parental rights groups who endorsed many of the victorious candidates.

The wins signal that parental rights were a significant factor at the ballot box on Tuesday. In Michigan, four school board candidates in Brandywine who were endorsed by a parents rights group called 1776 Project PAC won their races, flipping the board from liberal to conservative, the group said. In Maryland, three of their school board candidates won in Carroll County, flipping the school board there to a conservative majority, the group said.

This is how you start to win over the long haul. This is great news.

9 school boards over 6 states.
Gotta start somewhere, but that's a fart in a hurricane.

Is it true Connie Bernard won after she quit her position 2 weeks before the election?

And yet those people have done more than you to change the culture.

Local is how you change it. That’s how the left got way ahead.

A great number of school boards are appointed by the local city councils. It will take years of school board and council meetings before parents are able to take back control of their school systems.

It's more than just the school board flipping. But what is happening with the school board is an effective way for conservatives to organize and mobilize in other ways.
This is what the left understands and does so well, that everything must be about organizing and creating activists. This is how you get real, meaningful action in your favor.

Maybe so. But people are organizing, which is critical, even if it doesn't provide immediate results.

Yes it’s a small concession but hopefully more and more make that change moving forward and parents realize they can gain the power for change.

I agree. Big money republicans should put money into school boards or get state legislature that will pass 100% school choice . 100 % school choice would destroy the public school system .

Agree.
Heard an advert this morning on Spotify for a new podcast called Downballot.
The spot billed the podcast as a “progressive” show aiming to educate listeners as to the roles and functions of smaller offices as well as how to run for some of those smaller offices.
Information like this is helpful even if it is pushed through a progressive lens.
But, make no mistake, this program (as far as I can tell from the commercial) is aimed at recruiting leftists to run for local offices.
It’s probably only one of a hundred or more such programs with this mission.
If we don’t want Marxists on our school boards or as our Tax Assessors, we’d better build more momentum for filling those positions ourselves.
