We need to know who is causing our money to be wasted like this and if they are still in Congress they need to be fired. If they are still alive they need to repay the American people.

So they vote on appropriation bills to pay off sexual allegations with taxpayer monies; while they all basically live like ballers and do no real work.

Everybody seemed to be on their Ps and Qs in 1997 while bill was getting impeached and losing his right to practice law

I don't think people are fully digesting this

If you have a slush fund that pays settlements anytime you harass a person, isn't that basically an INCENTIVE to harass?

The whole point of settlements is they should result in discomfort to the payer to hopefully reduce the likelihood.

But these guys got no public censure. No personal risk. And the taxpayer picked up the tab

Exactly, and so far in 2017 they are up to $934,754, and WE are paying for their slush funds.

A new report by CNN exposes the DC swamp’s very serious problem of powerful men preying on women. CNN spoke with over 50 current and former lawmakers, aides and staff who have personally experienced sexual harassment on The Hill or know people who have.

As if this couldn’t get any worse, Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd Tuesday that taxpayers have paid over $15 million to settle sexual harassment lawsuits against members of Congress!

I've got to believe that there's about to be a ton of pressure to name names

How could they possibly keep the names private?

I don't know. I mean. It's Congress. They're going to try

I've got to believe the entire media will be on them though.

Possibly if they named all the names half of DC would be cleared out. Neither party wants to lose people as they sit and do nothing but wait for McCain to come vote no.

So, let me make sure I have this right.

The taxpayers are paying for their sins?

The vast majority of the names associated with these settlements are probably still in office and they probably cover both parties pretty extensively.

As such I bet Congress works to keep them hidden.

On no they may face an "ethics" investigation!

That's what they do when they want to delay and bury something. What a fricking joke.

yes, I would assume the same

I also would think that some of these claims were nuisance claims that were settled in order to get them out of the way, while others actually had merit.

I'll also venture that everyone in the settlement signed NDAs and that the settlements state that the fact of the settlement does not amount to an 'admission of wrongdoing'.

I just don't see how they avoid Freedom of Information Act
