actually she works for the state which means she is more than expected to take your s***. I'm not allowed to kidnap somebody just because they got smart with me so she damn sure f****** isn't allowed.

If a police officer can't handle the situation we saw in the video without losing their cool and getting all mad because the guy is not kissing their arse then God help us when they are in an actual stressful situation. Those two people are going to get somebody killed and there's a half decent chance the person that will be killed will be wearing a uniform because the only thing they seem good at is making a situation worse than it was necessary

I'm just continually amazed at how we have people that believe that being handed a badge and a gun means that you are suddenly allowed to act on all of your emotions in ways that would be considered criminal if any of the rest of us did it. It should literally be the opposite. If I'm just talking to some guy on the street and he tells me to go f*** myself so I pull out a gun and kidnap him and lock him in my house for 2 days I'm going to jail for a long time. But go up to the same guy with no real legal reason while wearing a badge and a gun and suddenly the fact you're a God damn emotional wreck is considered part of the job

she wasn't just a bitch, she illegally detained him then illegally arrested him and threw him in cage for over 24 hours depriving him of his constitutional rights. See the difference?

That isn't what that means. McDonald's cares about convincing you to spend your money with them because you can take it elsewhere.

Wow.So since you're not in the private sector and there's no alternative you get to escalate a verbal confrontation instead of trying to defuse it since you don't wanna "take shite?"

and the sad part is even if they get fired there will be no legal repercussions for this on them. Qualified immunity means you can be an emotional wreck with a gun and a badge and do pretty much whatever the f*** you want. The way the courts have interpreted it is just damned absurd. If a guy ends up having a lawsuit it'll be the taxpayer that pays up. And there's no guarantee this b**** will even be fired because quite often the game is that you let them resign and they pop up as a police officer somewhere else

even better. While the rest of us have to be able to navigate such situations without violence or kidnapping becoming a police officer completely removes that obstacle! That dude didn't wake up looking for some cop to f*** with. He's just on a damned walk with a cane that he used when the light was low and then folded up and put in his pocket. He literally has no idea of what he's about to encounter. And if I had walked up to him and said hey I think that's a gun in your pocket and he had reacted the same way so I tied him up and locked him in my basement I'm going to jail. But the supposed trained professional apparently is allowed to have the psyche of a toddler

I think the kids these days are calling folks like you...Karens?

Someone being a "public servant" doesn't make your entitled arse correct.

Well, I haven't been on here long, but, you'll note elsewhere on this board already(I think) that I routinely refer to the police as an "arm of the state" which is why I'm baffled by the conservative default stance on the police. Conservatives claim to hold a mistrust of government and if government is ever gonna frick us up the arse, they'll be using cops to do it(see COVID)

I think a lot of folks are able to separate the "arm of the state" from individual officers who have friends and family. Same with the military.

Maybe not so much here, but in the real world.

I have friends and family that are/were in both.

Alas, the reality is, very few of them would refuse unconstitutional or tyrannical orders issued by their governments. Also, saying "they aren't your friends" doesn't necessarily mean "they are your enemies". It merely means, push comes to shove, you're gonna lose to their bosses.

Also, it is readily obvious that there are simply some grotesquely poorly trained cops out there. Often, ENTIRE departmetns. Which, of course, brings up a key point. There really isn't a "THE police". There are MANY police. And, I'm sure you'd acknowledge that there is a VERRRRRRRY WIDE range of skills/talent out there in department ranging from professional departments to, "who the frick gave those people badges" departments.

That's cool, but I'm not sure what makes you think you'd be able to sat this for them:

I'd also make a fair wager that I know more of those folks than you'll ever know. I won't speak for them, but I'd be very surprised to see any of then kicking my door in.

I can speak for myself and say that I didn't serve a CO or a President. I served the Constitution.

I would definitely separate military vs police.

Covid pretty much proved to us the police can be counted on to enforce literally any level of retardation..........everywhere in the world really

I wouldn't, if the discussion is about tyranny.
