Sandmann suit is gaining traction and they are scared.

Maybe the end of fake news.

It’s going to be very difficult for “them” to report the truth.

Kinda fricks up their business model.

Check out Dave Rubin's interview with Robert Barnes. It's pretty interesting.

Indeed.
Their model is false premise and fake news.
If false narrative promotion subjects CNN to $250M per incident, it does "kinda frick up their business model."

They intentionally mischaracterized the nature of the lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges politically motivated activity to suppress and silence speech promoting certain ideologies, and how this suppression can ultimately influence electoral outcomes.

CNN framed it as "Nunes suing Twitter because some people harassed him".

You know what they say about publicity....

Our Magnificent President is teaching the Republicans how to stand up and fight back.

CNN is fake news and a joke.

That’s silly and you know it.

CNN is now reporting on 15 or so totally redacted pages

Totally redacted pages

And their panel of “experts” (buffoons) are reporting on what those pages say.

It’s hilarious.

Republicans needed a 70 year old man who tweets Elementary School playground comebacks to teach them how to fight back?

That's rough.

If the sole basis of the lawsuit is to obtain the info of people who criticize him and to additionally silence them, I would say you have a valid criticism.

But if his request for account info / identities of those who troll him is to factually link those trolls as being categorically left leaning / democratic, then to further prove how right leaning critics (or trolls if you prefer) have been silenced for similar content, then his request is valid, and your opinion lacks merit and objectivity.

Further, if he is actually pushing to have Democrat trolls banned (and I'm not sure about that as I haven't read the suit), it isn't necessarily problematic as long as he isn't demanding "free speech" (or whatever you want to call it) for Republicans. He would be merely pushing to rid the platform of all trolls-- left and right, which isn't unreasonable... unless you're in support of one side being allowed to troll and bully the other side without allowing the other side to counter.

If his actual intent is to allow conservative voices to be heard on Twitter, attempting to block left leaning voices via lawsuit is a potentially valid approach to making Twitter react, hopefully by making uniform standards and making sure renegade employees who are "accidentally" banning conservatives behave more responsibly.

Bottom line, allow both sides to speak freely or neither side, but exclusion based on political affiliation or based on who the target of the trolling is is problematic. For example, if you can call Trump or Nunes a monster, an idiot or something more crass, it should be okay to do the same to AOC, Booker, Clinton, etc. If criticising AOC, etc. gets someone banned, similar criticism of Nunes should get someone banned, too. It's as simple as that.

In a regulated, fair world, sure

That's not a free market

Breitbart scrubbed my Farrakhan for President video from their comment section

This board has censored and banned me with no citation to rules I've broken

And guess what? That's how it should be, if that's how they want it

Sounds like common sense to me.

But wouldn’t it be better if niether were banned.

And I think that is the point.

Respectfully, I'm not sure if you're being purposefully vague or you're just slapping buzzwords into a phrase to make it seem like your idea is predicated on a meaningful concept, but the net effect is that this is a rather meaningless statement... Sure, the U.S. is usually called a "free market" moreso than many countries (allowing a liberal sense of that term and with an enormous multi-part asterisk). That huge asterisk is where our supposed free market is, in fact, heavily regulated in many areas. And while I'm not an expert in economics or history, I suspect there hasn't been as free of a market as your contrast suggests since the great Golden Age before the deluge when laws were not needed...

... So, while I do appreciate that you acknowledged "sure", I'm right, I have to point out that your attempt to pigeon-hole my being right into a "regulated, fair world" vs a "free market" is too simplistic to be valid since we don't live in the Golden Age and rule of law in the US prevents a totally free market. Therefore-- in context of the actual world we live in-- my comments as to potentially valid reasons to request troll identities is valid and isn't necessarily an unfair tactic. And I'll even repeat my original comment to you: "If the sole basis of the lawsuit is to obtain the info of people who criticize him and to additionally silence them, I would say you have a valid criticism." I just don't think that's all Nunes is after. I think it's part of a larger strategy as I already stated in my previous post.

Don't know the details of your case(s) of getting banned from here or Breitbart, but I'm personally not a big fan of banning. I'm strongly religious/spiritual and I wouldn't even have a problem if people posted pr0n on here. If I didn't like it, I'd stop visiting. I'm generally a fan of the idea of free markets and freedom of speech... even if we don't quite have those things here.

-TigerDroppings... Okay, this is a small enough club that you might be right about it here.
-A publisher like Breitbart, I'm not sure if it should be okay to ban you from making comments even if outright hateful. So, it's not necessarily how it should be, imho.
-Twitter, Youtube/Google... As long as you're clear that your opinion of "that's how it should be" is an unsupported opinion, fine. You're welcome to your opinion. My opinion is that I don't think that's how it should be aside from some very basic human decency issues and overt bullying, though I also think everyone should generally have thicker skin. And, imho, if Twitter can't ban Trump (and we both know they want to) because his channel is now a formal way to communicate with the people, it bodes poorly for them to say they're some sort of private little club that can ban who they want... And that's not getting into Google getting gov't money (not sure about twitter).
