Just did a segment this morning where they interviewed people in Michigan - all were not invested in the stock market. Basically saying the stock market doesn't matter to regular people.

Oh, and they ended the segment with people saying Trump has nothing to do with the stock market.

They can't deny the strong market, so now the market doesn't effect regular people. Just the rich.

So, biased. Fake news.

Every day is opposite day at CNN. Up is down, right is left, and the stock market doesn't matter.

DJIA, GDP, unemployment rate. They're all just numbers.

It's about feelings, not numbers.

So republicans wanted to give everyone's retirement exposure to the stock market and libs melted and sobbed and didn't let it happen.

Now libs are melting and sobbing that not enough Americans benefit from economic growth.

You can't make this shite up folks

I have a group of seven guy friends and we get together and drink together way to much. All in our thirties and none of us are wealthy just middle class folks. All we talked about last night was tax savings and 401k. I assure you it matters CNN

If they said that, they're setting themselves up for disappointment.

It is very true though that the stock markets matter far, far more for the upper-middle than they do for the lower-middle. And to the lower-middle the upper-middle looks rich. So it's probably not a good idea to write off the possibility of the perception by much of the middle class (the lower-middle) that it won't help them much.

The stock market effects ANYONE with a 401k or a retirement plan. The fact they are claiming it only effects rich people is solid proof they are either completely out of touch with middle class America or they are so consumed by their hatred for Trump they want to turn positive news into something negative.

You could argue the president has a relatively minor effect on the economy, but I think it is clear he can have an effect on the market.

what nonsense is this that it doesn't matter to ordinary people. It is the most glaringly obvious and simple way to grow your money. If you want to ignore it, fine, but you will never be one of these rich people you are programmed to hate.

I caution my fellow Republicans to focus too much on the stock market. GDP is the number that matters. Real wage growth matters.

Using the stock market alone as a guide would suggest Obama was a solid president.
