But that's just it: Many have decided what the truth is (on both sides) and won't agree corruption or manipulation is stopped until the data fits their beliefs.

A person who denies AGW exists will cry corruption until data comes out saying it doesn't.

No.

When they have been caught numerous times manipulating data to get their desired results, it casts doubt on all of their other data.

No one's fault but theirs.

Honest individual in control of her rationality. Spot on analysis. Trump should ask for her help in bringing back sanity to the debate for REALISTIC SOLUTIONS; very eloquent.

Judith Curry is just wrong about the science
quote:

The ocean is absorbing much of the excess heat from human emissions. If the model Curry and colleagues discussed had incorporated the latest ocean heat content data, their relatively low best estimate for climate sensitivity would have been more in line with previously reported, higher estimates. It would be a mistake to set policy based solely on low estimates. That’s why we have advisory bodies like the IPCC and National Climate Assessment that examine all the available science, including higher estimates. The risks of far greater climate sensitivity can’t simply be discounted or dismissed. The bottom line is that we know enough about where we’re heading to reduce emissions even as scientists grapple with homing in on precisely how much the Earth is expected to warm. It’s also worth pointing out that current emissions are currently on track to be higher than any of the scenarios the IPCC examined. Further, the path we are on does not take into account the amplification of carbon release to the atmosphere from Arctic permafrost that is likely to dramatically accelerate over the next decades. It would be great if climate sensitivity were as low as Curry thinks it is. But we can’t base climate policy on wishful thinking. Using arguments about low climate sensitivity to delay action is like refusing to treat a patient because you can’t tell if their fever is 103 or 104 degrees. The risks are clear, even if we’re still figuring out just how big they are.

Some jackass called into Rush's show today and said we should send a few rocketloads of sand up into space, disperse it, and it would provide shade for the earth.

Sounds plausible, let's get right on it! Have Trump contact NASA and get on this ASAP!

Had to be a libtard that proposed this.

Since when? When has anyone ever discovered anything when there weren't peers saying they had lost their minds...scientists have been killed for discovering shite...

Did you even read past that line? She is one of the more realistic climatologists who feel humans have a very minor impact on climate change.

IMO, bh...employ the Carbon-based energy platform as efficiently as possible to keep the economy rolling. And use that vibrant economy to fund REAL (screw Solyndra types) research and development into the next energy paradigm.

I used to wade in that surf down at Grand Isle where that rig is burning, and catch big trout until our (damn strong) arms gave out. Sold em' to the restaurants to pay for out trip. I love a fruitful and productive ecology...worship Beauty. I suspect you do too.

An unrealistic 'solution' would be for Leftist to co-opt and use Environmental causes as a means to promote their Egalitarian/Authoritarian Statism, Global wealth/affluence redistribution hegemony. that dog won't hunt.

I heard that. Is there any sound basis to it? Think I'll check it out when I get time.

M. Stein is a blast.
