Not a gun nut and own only one handgun. I don't plan on purchasing any other fire arms. I oppose all firearm legislation. Period.

Scruffy gets it. This movement is about taking the people's rights from them to allow more legislation and government dependency. The last fricking thing we need in this country is more legislation.

Wow!

That thing called the constitution... Nevermind. Screw what this country was founded upon.

Two heavily liberal districts in Colorado that went for Obama in 2012 in a landslide actually recalled their state representatives over gun control legislation and infringing their 2nd amendment rights.

That should tell you everybody loves their guns, liberals, libertarians and conservatives alike.

Great quotes. This one is my favorite.

I'm looking for the Benjamin Franklin one that basically says that a few criminals shouldn't prevent law abiding citizens from owning guns.

Honestly, I was never interested in guns until all of this gun control absurdity started. Now I'm buying up guns and ammo like a typical southerner should.

Mass shootings happen in gun free zones and aren't committed by law abiding gun owners. Regulating us is not going to stop the criminals. They will get them anyways. I don't see how people can't understand that.

I'll believe it when I see it. If this country can witness school shooting after school shooting and look the other way, nothing will change it.

In a perfect world, judges, legislators, and governors offices would be forced to work under the same lack of security as the school children in their districts. Watch how fast things would change if those cowards actually had to experience "gun control" or lack thereof

I have only fired my CC gun in the range. I hope to hell that I never have to use it for self defense. But I will not hesitate to do so.

And my brother just got an AR-15 I want to shoot it so bad. I'll stick with my .380 though.

And the pic that Sentris posted is perfect. Legal gun owners don't shoot up buildings. Hell, I had to go through more damn background checks to get my CC. Can't be recently divorced. No history mental illness, and don't even say that womenz are crazy, I'm talking locked up crazy.

Nope.

I just don't understand the logic.

It's my right and responsibility as a southern woman to own a gun. Screw the haters.

I'm 27 and I guess I'm not bright. Not only am I in favor of the purchase of so-called "assault rifles," I am also in favor of the legal purchase of automatic weapons.

Not really. He still hugged Obama.

So you think he should be more loyal to the republican party than to the people of his state? Interesting.

genuineLSUtiger Christie vetoes gun control bill in NJ We need more and it is inevitable. Americans under 40 don't hunt nearly as much as previous generations and they are bright enough to see the lunacy of private citizens being allowed to purchase assault rifles. I guess what I am saying is that much stricter gun control is coming because it is demographically inevitable. Just like marijuana legalization and gay marriage equality.

Americans under 40 don't hunt as much and the lunacy of assault rifles are simply false in the simple assumption why Americans buy and have the right to purchase and own a firearm. Hunting was never mentioned in the Bill of Rights, the right to bear arms is essential to provide a blance to a tyrannical government and protection of self. Strict gun control isn't inevitable because of demographics but because of lack of knowledge that keeps the under forty crowd from realizing the difference between an unalienable right in our founding charter and hippy dippy current local events.

Here is the one that I was looking for earlier:

quote:

The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.

Just for clarification - by "control" you mean outright ban on private ownership and confiscation correct?

At least you aren't insulting us by saying "common sense"...
