Thanks for your post. If one just was looking at the 12/25 thing to determine Jesus' birth date...there could be a debate I am sure. However, that would be yanking things way out of context. We would have to ignore ALL the pagan customs associated with Christmas and Easter then furthermore ignore what was going on in Rome with the push to conscript pagans into the church/state marriage...when we delve into all the context and facts, to me it is inescapable that this "coincidence" of 12/25 and the winter solstice celebration is an exact tie in with the pagan conversion attempt by Constantine.
