It's time we recognize Taiwan as an independent country and give them full diplomatic support.

Any moron claiming the Navy is fading in the face of China is just that, a moron.

It's not that they are fading the face of China, but in the face of the prog norm that ruled the DOD for 4+ years and still exist that is of concern. The Navy as most branches has a problems now that is not China induced but rather is due to the culture of the DOD curated by the top of the DOD and is now a strategic concern.

Yes and hopefully it is but it can be a win / win for America and the world. They will eventually try regardless to take them but if there markets and country goes into a big turmoil because of loss in overseas sales of goods and attempts to take Taiwan to gain support from their countrymen and fail or gets bogged down for a period this undermines their future. Sinking their currency to real value in the meantime will also benefit as it becomes harder for them to prop up their country or subsidize their production companies

Considering China’s aggregate military equipment inputs are only 42% of those of the US ($91 versus $219 billion), either the "can't match" assertion is BS, or we need to have a very serious conversation with our military suppliers.

That part is true and there is no fix because the second conservatives lose power, liberals will go right back to the same DEI crap in the military. This is going to be a never ending battle.

Well, things are a lot cheaper to produce in China.

Especially when they do more copying, aka IP theft, than development.

Sure. They could try and probably succeed, but would it be worth the cost??
I could put water in my gas tank, but it wouldn't work out so well. Same with this.
If China invaded Taiwan, they would immediately become an international pariah. They just think Trump is doing a number on them with this restructuring of international trade......

Yes and that’s the point. If their world crashed, really not hard to see that if Bessent & Trump go after their currency along with a big fall in their exports and imports, they would have to react with something big internally to regain support. Can you imagine the amount of spies China has in Taiwan on top of the 20% estimated Chinese sympathizers

Who is responsible for that????
Think about it.
That responsibility falls squarely on the shoulders of we the people. We the people vote for our congressional representation. Its our, the voters, responsibility to vote in better people that have ours and this nations interests.
That's the cold hard truth.

During Biden's term China ran circles and owned Biden. I think it was Erik Prince that said China has been taking over various islands around Taiwan....making a death trap for USShips.

A recent poll shows 20% are in favor towards China.

LOL. Have you been to Taiwan? The weight of the Japanese passing through there is heavy and omnipresent. Food, culture, thinking education. They've also been exposed to much which is not communist, for a long time. The 20 % are weenies or very old people who wish for Utopia before they pass on.

Consider in America socialists, anarchist, Americans own weenies, and Karen’s make up a good chunk of the population that outright state they wish for another type of government I think the poll of 20% to favor China is right. You could almost get 20% poll that want hell on earth if they had ice cream. The amount of spies in Taiwan no doubt is huge since China has been gearing up for them for decades. Taiwan has known subversives in the government that favor China
