Its not hyperbole. Its a lie.
Sadly I think he doesnt really understand who owns and operates the canal

I’ve not said what I believe. I just pointed out your posting “owned” in all your posts, and Pete used control and influence. Just making a point. This was a thread on Pete’s comments and not Trump. I’m not familiar with Trump’s comments. By the way, Operating is still not owning Roger.

Mainly because they can if it's a Chinese company. If the Panamanians want them gone, they will be gone. The Caribbean is an American lake just like most of the Pacific. China cannot project power beyond 150 - 200 miles out from its coasts in reality.
This issue is and has always been bullshite in reality

Pete is wagging a fake bone in front of your face.
China has no more influence over the Canal than anyone else.
Trump administration loves creating crisis that dont exist, fixing those crisis and taking credit for saving you.

You keep making assertions like wagging a bone in front of my face. Again, I am making an observation on your comments vs what was being said, no more than that.
You can continue on with your wailing and gnashing teeth over Trump.

The US is right to be concerned about China’s influence over the Panama Canal. In 2017, Panama broke diplomatic ties with Taiwan and established formal relations with China – a huge win for Chinese diplomacy.
Months later, Panama became the first Latin American country to join China's signature Belt and Road Initiative, a trillion-dollar global infrastructure and investment initiative.
The Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Honduras followed suit and also severed ties with Taipei in favor of Beijing.
China has slowly expanded its soft power by opening its first Confucius Institute in the country and providing a grant to build a railway.
Chinese companies have also sponsored "media training" for Panamanian journalists.
China's interests in the Panama Canal have increased since 1997 to include the Port of Cristobal, Fourth Bridge, the Port of Balboa, and the Amador Cruise Terminal
Chinese companies such as Landbridge Group and the Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings now operate ports at both ends of the canal.
China is the largest provider the Colon Free Zone (CFZ), located on the Caribbean coast of Panama, next to the northern mouth of the Canal. It is the most important free zone in the Americas and the second largest in the world, with an annual import and re-export Issue of $16.16 billion.
China completed the construction of a container port in the Colon area , which has facilities for receiving liquefied natural gas. The construction cost them $900 million, and resulted in the first container terminal designed to handle Neopanamax ships
Panama’s willingness to relinquish critical economic control of strategically significant areas and infrastructure—a hallmark of China’s Belt and Road Initiative strategy—casts doubt on Panama’s resolve and capacity to effectively safeguard the canal’s neutrality as agreed to in the treaty.
Youre delusional, cuz OMB

Yeah..they totally had nothing to do with funding/building the recent expansion to accommodate larger ships. Watched a documentry on it a few years ago and china was all over the project.

Chinese companies did a lot of the construction.
I get that some think a Chinese Company might have a lot of influence in the situation, but unlike Trump said the dont "operate the Canal."
They arent going to shut it down, they dont have any authority.

A lot of Chinese died building it

Semantics. STFU you lost the argument a few pages ago.

Wouldnt doubt it. Dams and canals both seem to take a lot of lives in construction. I think one in 50 workers died on the Erie Canal.

Your head is too far up your arse to realize that our duly elected president is rewriting history!! Lol

Everything said on this board can be easily researched in seconds. There's no excuse for not looking up something new or contradictory to ones understanding.
But no one does it.

No, a lot of people knew that. They realize that just because China's name isn't on the deed doesn't mean they don't control it. You're either being intentionally obtuse or TDS is getting in the way of rational thought.
