It's truly amazing how blind some of yall are to your own hypocrisy. You laughed at people on the left for boycotting CFA for who they donated to. Now yall are doing the same exact shite but somehow that's different. I mean if yall are going to be hypocritical at least have the balls to own it

It's fascinating that you think you know
a) what I said about queers boycotting CFA, and
b) whether or not I'm boycotting them now

Try to keep up with English. When a person replies directly to someone and they say “you” and “y’all” it means that someone is included.
I think you’re misreading the reaction to the gay protests of CFA but that’s not surprising.

Pretty sure there are people in this thread saying they won't eat anymore chickfila but alright
Also while you may not be boycotting it's clear that you're trying to act like ant type of boycott wouldn't be part of outrage culture

I don’t care who they donate to. Their product is all I care about.

It's deeper than that.
It's people practicing religious freedom vs political groups painting anyone they disagree with as racist, homophobic, sexist, etc.
If you think there's virtually no difference in the practices of the Southern Poverty Law Center and say, the Salvation Army you're either ignorant or just plain dishonest. We're at a point where the AMA is pushing the outright banning of conversion therapy for gender identity or sexual orientation - even for consenting adults.
The pendulum has swung too far to the left and religious liberties are on the ropes.
Signed,
An atheist.

Outrage is organizing and standing out in front of some place raising hell. Simply choosing to spend your money elsewhere, as sane leftists probably did with CFA without all the virtue signaling, requires no outrage. It’s the difference between being unhappy about a presidential election and boycotting the inauguration or having violent protests.
What raised eyebrows about the original gay dustup over CFA was two things.
1. It was nothing new. The entire world knew that CFA was closed on Sundays and that Truett Cathy was an outspoken Christian. It was weird that it was suddenly an issue.
2. There was nothing strange about Dan Cathy’s view on marriage. It was one held by Hillary and Obama until it became politically expedient to “evolve”, in fact. No, this was the gay agenda announcing what a lot of us already knew; they’re intolerant of Christianity. This was a surprise to a large segment of the Christian (nominal and otherwise) population. They don’t want to live and let live, and they were finally being honest about it.
Most corporations don’t try to have a worldview identity. When you don’t, people understand that an owner might donate to a candidate they don’t like, but that’s viewed as separate from the business. When you go out of your way to have an identity and people patronize you in part because of that identity, you should expect backlash when you do a 180. If someone found out that the owner of Lowes got rich investing in strip mining most people, including enviro-lefties, wouldn’t care that much. If a company like REI did that its customers would be outraged, and understandably so.

That's a lot of bullshite being spewed just to justify hypocrisy

My mistake; I thought you were interested in a POV that you plainly don’t understand. You just want to talk shite. That’s fine, it’s just not interesting. I’m surprised you haven’t thrown in a few “melt” comments to go with all your lols.

How?!? When is this ever the case?!? I doubt there is a group of people in history that lose their freaking minds over stupid petty crap more than the religious right. The religious right act exactly like the whiny snowflakes they like to mock.
A group that you disagree with having more freedom is not an attack on religious liberties. Stop acting like victims and take personal responsibility for being hypocrites. An atheist that believes that religion is in some way being attacked? What atheist utopia do you live in where the religious right are the attacked and not the attackers?

There's actual discussion happening in progressive circles about whether or not voicing one's opinion that homosexuality is sinful should be considered hate speech and be made illegal.
There's actual discussion happening in progressive circles about whether or not voluntary conversion therapy for sexual orientation or gender identity should be legal.
There's actual discussion happening in progressive circles about whether or not there should be compulsatory grade school pro-LGBTQ classes in every school across America.
We've moved from "What we do in our own bedroom is none of your business", which is absolutely true, to "What you do in your churches, charities, private schools, etc. is now our business. Oh, and how you raise your children is our business too."
Did you just wake up from cryogenic sleep? Where have you been the last 3-5 years?

Yea, that's just human nature. But that doesn't detract to the bit of my post you quoted. I'm wasn't pointing out hypocrisy, I'm pointing out power imbalances.
The political and social power fundamentalist Christians wielded in the 1960s doesn't exist today. That power has shifted into the hands of progressives. I think fundamentalist Christians abused that power decades ago, and I think that progressives, if we're to trust the articles they've written and the speeches they've given, will abuse their recently obtained power in the next few years unless the pendulum comes back to the right some.
And if you're still confused as to what I mean about the power progressives have, just look at Hollywood. They're almost exclusively progressive. The music industry? Same. Sports? Same. News media save talk radio? Same. Big tech? Same. Academia? Mostly the same.

Freudian slip?
Why do you think an "atheist utopia" is one where religious groups are "attacked"?
