“Our extraordinary nominee gifts are in no way based on need,” Fary said in a statement.

He continued, “We are acknowledging these amazing nominees while elevating and showcasing small businesses, minority-owned brands, female entrepreneurs and companies that give back at a time when everyone can use a little more fun and frivolity.”

Fary told Reuters he receives little feedback directly from recipients, but often sees them enjoying their luxury gifts on social media.

Conan O'Brien just roasted the entire room really.

And he's 100% one of them.

Hate to say that about him, but it's the truth.

We still have that silly event?

This generation's actors consider it unimportant by and large.

quote:

"Time was an Oscar guaranteed you work forever. That’s no longer the case, just ask Mira Sorvino and Cuba Gooding Jr! And they won them 20+ years ago. The Oscar just doesn’t have the power even within the industry that it once had."

quote:

"Young people don’t care. The Oscars mean nothing to them.
"Like the Grammys and the Emmys, ‘when the product itself no longer touches the lives of a wide audience, the adjacent awards become meaningless,'"

They can’t mention this stuff otherwise. They know it’s Hollywood, ask Corey Feldman, but they’ll pretend Conan is talking about Trump to soothe their own guilty conscience.
