We're outside of BR and StG in Fairwood Estates and I hope to keep it that way (as do many of my neighbors, it seems).

Yeah, we’ve heard rumblings of Woodland Ridge potentially de-annexing from BR and joining StG.

Not sure how much of that was just rumbling at the potential tears by ME if she ends up in St George.

Our HOA president posted on Nextdoor that we plan on voting on it after all of the legal stuff shakes out. I think it would probably pass too.

I took 20% off their budget

The police budget for Sandy Springs is $22,880,045.
So 20% of that would be 4.56 Million.

Not too far away from me.

I'd prefer to be in StG but I probably wouldn't move my kid to public school at this point. She's almost in HS and has been going to school with those kids since pre K. Kind of cruel to move her at this point.

The large corporate presence could matter a lot or a little depending on how often they hire city police for security

The police would still be involved every time a crime happens, an arrest happens, or an investigation of that crime happens. Corporate security does not include the streets outside of their building either. Think about that!

Review the Sandy Springs budget and you can see that the city provides services that SG won’t provide.

For instance they have city fire, city EMS, and a city recreation fund. They also have a performing arts center,

Now I don’t see where they fund a district attorney, or clerk of court.

Sandy Springs budgets over 12 million for public works. What does that cover? It does not say.

It’s not an apple per apple comparison so you can’t really compare the two.

From their 2020 budget. They gave everyone pay raises.

That looks like it happened in BR. It's just close to the Central Throughway. There's not a whole lot of crime in Central. Nothing close to BR at least.

It looks like it is one block north of the BR city limits:

I'm leaving it as is considering that Mrs Cormier believes EBRSO is uninvolved in patrols outside of SG.

In “no man’s land”

Unincorporated EBR, where you pay taxes to BR.
