What does "ready" mean? There is 0.0% chance that an effective and safe vaccine is ready for universal/widespread distribution in 60 days. Absolutely no way.
According to this board you are anti-science if you say that.
I am rooting for the vaccine. As much money as we are losing from shutdowns we should be pouring everything we have into creating one.
However, it seems fairly rational to be skeptical of any claims that a vaccine will be "ready" by Nov 1st. If it is then GREAT, but a more likely scenario is that such statements are political in nature and the goal posts will be moved over time.

Not sure why everyone is so scared of this vaccine. If Bill Gates wanted to put something in the vaccine to take over our minds, why didn't he already do it for the flu vaccine? I take the flu shot every year, never get the flu, and don't have the urge to start burning my own neighborhood down.
Old folks and sick people will get first crack at the vaccine. If they don't start dropping dead, we should be ok to take it by the time healthy people even have an opportunity to take it.
If the vaccine is available and you don't take it, please don't complain if you get china flu. No one will give a shite about your symptoms.
ps. If I take it and Bill Gates really does take control of my mind, please feel free to shoot me in the head if I try to burn down the neighborhood.

But Fauchi says late 2020 early 21 vaccine will be ready. So this news is about facilities only.

In simple terms, the vaccines are all based on the concept of giving the body the spike protein used by the virus to invade cells so it can recognize the protein (T-cells and antibodies respond) and be prepared to deal with different strains and mutations of it now and in the future.
The vaccine will not "cure" anything but it will allow us to fend off the SARS-CoV-2 virus more effectively like we do influenza for the most part. It's enough to get back to our normal fricking lives.

Operation Warp Speed starting the production of 300 million vaccine doses at the beginning of phase three testing is getting it done. Even if the tests failed to pass muster, the cost of manufacture is trivial compared to the damage being done to the economy.
Early vaccines can have side effects, but nobody will grow an extra set of arms experience what getting a shingles shot is like.

Look up Operation Warp Speed.

I'm very much rooting for it. I'm just not going to believe everything the government tells me, especially when they've given me no reason to.
Try looking at things through a neutral lens instead of a blue or a red one. You may find yourself less disappointed.
I bet we hear more of this from ex-democrats as they leave the party for something else.
