Unless you think PISSED means extremely supportive and praying everyone would stop be morons and get vaccinated, you are incorrect.

My friend was at Commanders last weekend and someone at her table is very friendly with the owner Ti Martin. She sat down and proceeded to brag about how she had been lobbying Latoya for a month to do the mandate and how happy she was that it's going into effect and how it's the only way back and that she didn't care how many people she has to hire to check cards she will do it. So if you hate the mandate don't ever eat there again because her with a lot of other major restaurant owners were begging Latoya for this because it doesn't change their business plan at all. With reservations and hostess stations it will cost them essentially nothing to deal with this and they can hide behind Latoyas skirt and throw their hands up and claim they had no choice. The people who are getting screwed are bar owners like myself who are not remotely setup for this and don't agree with it in the slightest. We have a much different clientele than the upscale restaurants in the city and we don't want to enforce this and don't want to offend regulars who are against this and basically have to make the decision between something we think is not only illegal but morally outrageous or getting our license pulled for who knows how long right before football season. The fallacious argument that the Mayor made the tough decision between doing this and shutting everyone down like she's some hero for allowing us to be open is total BS. I encourage her to shut all the bars and restaurants down instead of this, but she knows she can't bc the federal unemployment boost is gone and one more shutdown and there won't be anything left to shutdown in 2022 in Orleans Parish. I can also tell you that Code Enforcement who she is relying upon to enforce this had absolutely no idea she was going to do it 48 hours before it happened.

Correct if I’m wrong, but Katie’s and Francescas are the same people. Last week the guy at Francescas was praising the passport and blaming the jazzfest loss on citizens who weren’t vaccinated. Kind of a flip-flop.

Local interview
OP's link to Fox 8 story
Screw him...he wanted it.
Also screw the MS media who do not even fact check. I like Laura Ingram, but that is just advertorial level reporting the part of her show. It was a Fox local affiliate who ran the story only a week ago where the owner of Katie's said he welcomed the mandate. Does Laura Ingram not even have staff or - here's an cutting edge idea- time to google for herself the people she is going to interview? Wouldn't she be interested in hearing him address his own change of heart (sarcasm font)
TD more accurate than paid media once again.
