It's not that either.

That's exactly what it is. You tried to used the prefatory clause of the Second Amendment the same way anti-gun idiots use it.

I have the feeling more people will be fully on board when the 14th Amendment goes back in front of the USSC.

What is 'citizenship'? We're about to find out.

Libertarians have just become contrarian trolls for the most part. The are ok with the house burning down just as long as everyone recognizes they were the one's screaming fire(while doing nothing to put out fire)

Is that what you're going to claim you voted for?

The second amendment, which is part of the bill of rights, did not apply to individual citizens until the ratification of the 14th amendment in 1868.

Wrong.

The Second Amendment is the Second Amendment. The language didn't change.

I'm going to laugh so hard when it doesn't even make it to the Supreme Court

Not to the point someone should consider it a realistic ideology. Someone will always exploit its inherent weaknesses. It sucks, but it’s reality.

What does the Constitution say about security - and why are you so afraid to answer the question? It goes directly to the point of giving up some liberty for security.

I'll say this again

You can take his OP and replace "libertarian" with "small government conservative" and his point still stands.

You don't see an issue with "subject to the jurisdiction"? I'm certainly no lawyer, but it seems like that's what's going to get hashed out this time.

Wrong

Prior to the ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment and the development of the incorporation doctrine, the Supreme Court in 1833 held in Barron v. Baltimore that the Bill of Rights applied only to the federal, but not any state, governments. Even years after the ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment, the Supreme Court in United States v. Cruikshank (1876) still held that the First and Second Amendment did not apply to state governments.
