I don't know a lot about him, but I've seen comments from him that make me think that he's legitimately pissed off about the border situation. Some dems may be worried about the optics of voting against a black dude. Seems like a not-so-bad pick.
Would prefer Massie, Jordan, or GEOTUS, though.
