I was wondering what you thought of these parts of the article which relate to the sources of the payments.
A half-million dollars of payments to that nonprofit, the Human Rights Accountability Global Initiative Foundation, have also come under scrutiny. Wired by Katsyv and other backers, the payments came two months before the Trump Tower meeting. Investigators at Bank of America, where the foundation held an account, cited the transactions as potential evidence of corruption and bribery in the bid to overturn the sanctions law, and provided them to Treasury, documents show.
Beyond his work with Katsyv and Veselnitskaya, investigators discovered that Akhmetshin had received large, mostly unexplained wire transfers from companies in Latvia and Panama, and payments from longtime American political insiders, one of whom is a veteran Republican operator with ties to the Trump campaign.

Why go through the exercise of naming names throughout the article only to not associate a name with this individual? There are many long time Republicans who hate Trump. "Ties" could also be explained in the article so as to know whether this individual was involved in day to day operations or merely was at the same place at the same time once as Trump.

He himself should be indicted for numerous counts of prosecutorial misconduct and outright fraud. FBI and DOJ must be investigated and cleaned up.

This is the relevant section. Doesn't seem like a member of Trump campaign (but a spouse of one). The direction of the money arrows is interesting too.

Why would he be paid so much for a meeting that didn’t actually have any dirt to reveal?
Because he was paid to set up the meeting. To set up the campaign
campaign as in Anti-magnitsky campaign in general or Operation Get-the-orange-man?

What amazes me is that Fusion HRC set all of this up not to use to win the election but to get to Trump *after* he won the election whoa that is real 13D chess moves.

The trap was set to spring in July 2017.

So any collusion, or conspiracy to commit the non-crime thereof, was through an agent paid by Clinton, and therefore the Trump Campaign in effect colluded with the Clinton Campaign?
