I appreciate that. There are others that post multiple posts in rapid fire with the only difference is I use twitter so the viewers don't have to follow another link. Are those posters going to get called out as well? I just want the balls and strikes called the same way,

I agree and it's a site-wide problem, people using the embed feature instead of the pre-existing img tag. Embed should be for video content, not still pics/screenshots (such as memes, in the case of this thread.)

You're welcome to your own opinion on the matter.
Embedding a tweet allows for easy access to threaded content or for the reader to share/comment, irrespective of the media.
If the embed isn't loading, then that's an issue on the user's end - be it bandwidth or browser.

I'm not a big fan on clicking on "Image Link" without having some idea of what I'm about to see. If it's a regular poster that I have confidence in then it's not a problem.

As far as the "keep scrolling" comment earlier, that doesn't work. I can scroll right past, then as I'm looking at a courteously linked meme, the whole screen jumps around as the embeds I scrolled past finally start to load and reshape the page.
I encounter this on both iphone and chromebook, on a 300mbps fiber link.

I'm not talking about "Image Link". frick that. I'm talking about the IMG tag, you know, the one everyone has been using here for A DECADE before the embed feature came out a few months ago. The image is still html "embedded" in the post, but it loads nearly instantly, unlike the <> "embed" link.

For 1 month. After that, it times out and reverts to a link of the image. We encountered this at length during the Q Thread heyday.

Take that up with the hamsters. After a month, at least the link is still archived so if you bookmarked something, you can still access it with an extra click, assuming the host hasn't changed something, which would also break the embed link by the way.
