For liberals, the offensive part about depicting a minority is showing them as they are, instead of as an idealized, imaginary version of what they never could become. This is why you can make a movie about Africans if you put them in Wakanda, and why they will sit there and think that this creation of white, Jewish men is what they could have created if not for white, Jewish men.
