I think we should’ve cut the saudis off years ago, but not because of this.

I think it is better for us and the world to have a strong relationship with the Saudis.
Maybe use this as an opportunity to flex some muscle in that relationship though.
As an aside, the same people bitching about this dead journalist would cheer if the same thing happened to Assange.

The Arab Spring began in Tunisia becausd a fruit vendor killed himself out of frustration with an oppressive
government .Sparked revolutions throughout the Middle East. Small incidents can lead to huge changes/ reactions .
People have always called out Saudi Arabia and have always asked why aren't they being held accountable for it's Human rights record like Iran, N Korea, Cuba,etc.....? Maybe the brazen murder of Khashoggi will finally be a turning point . Maybe not.
