Not sure if you actually believe what you are posting ITT or if you are just playing Devil's advocate.

Assuming the former, you probably realize that the only way to prevent crimes of the sort in Buffalo or Uvalde is a complete ban on private ownership of firearms. No "common sense gun laws" short of that will be effective.

Do you agree?

You’ve never seen a gun store?
Are you really equating illegal sales with licensed dealer sales? You think there are no checks and regulation enforced at a gun store? I guess in your mind a pharmacy is the equivalent of a corner drug dealer.

I am Pointing out you can go legally buy a gun and you can’t just walk into a drug store and legally buy fentanyl.

I woild Have to go find a drug dealer to get fentanyl. I just Googled 15 places in BR to get a gun.

So you want to make buying a gun as inconvenient - and as illegal - as buying fentanyl?

Do you really think that will stop mass shootings? Or even significantly reduce them?

All laws aside it’s harder to produce a gun than fentanyl.

From machines to supplies to transportation.

I do think making handguns and assault rifles as to buy and own and heavily regulation hunting rifles and shotguns would lower gun violence.

I get the whole “you can’t put toothpaste back into the tub” arguement

But if really wanted to apply that metaphor, we are doing nothing to clean up the toothpaste, and we are constantly squeezing more out.

I am not a gun guy at all. But the solutions to this really center around mental health. We have a crisis in our country and we are continuously trying to put band-aids on it and not actually addressing the issue. We have no guardrails as a society now and the bottom has been falling out.

Banning guns, while fulfilling for those who seek something to blame will not solve this issue. I am so tired of these shootings.
