Just goes to show that the suspension of logistical services for even a day or two can completely cripple an economy, whether it's from infrastructure destruction/failure, or from the refusal of labor from the 'boots on the ground'.
That's why I bought land and I'm going to engage in agriculture. Keeping it local isn't just some fruity, liberal, hippy ideal, it could potentially be crucially important for your family's very survival

If you ever need any advice, brother, I did that for 4 years - and will start again in another ~15 months.
Are you trying to do subsistence homesteading or have a profitable enterprise?

Damn, you done fricked up now.
I'm going to pester the frick out of you about this.
I'm looking at doing homesteading only. Any extra produce would probably go to friends and family or be canned and stocked away.
I don't have any acreage yet but we've zeroed in on a property that's about 16 acres that's been available for many years. Will be ready to purchase within the next 24 months but right now I'm in the process of putting down a test plot.
I've been researching permaculture Orchards. Right now I'm trying to figure out my irrigation system. I was going to do drip lines underneath black plastic and run it off a sprinkler controller. Trying to decide how many zones I want to create and what type of controller I should go with.

But don't worry, Brazil and Argentina will take up any slack that China loses from the trade war with the US of A

LOL! @ the continued failure of the leftists who took over there and in record time have driven them off a cliff. That crap DON"T WORK BOYS and GIRLS! When you cutback on the incentive to work and get ahead it all starts crumbling. When you attack the middle class producers then production goes down. When you replace educated people with less educated and less driven and yes, less astute others then you wind up with Zimbabwe and Venezuela.

Where will the Venezuelans flee to now?

Brazil is only second to the US in the plastic surgery capital of the world.
Brazil's place in plastic surgery (or maybe plastic surgery's place in Brazil) is evidenced by 90-year old Ivo Pitanguy, Brazil's pioneer of plastic surgery, carrying the Olympic torch in Rio on its way to the Olympic Stadium. Dr. Pitanguy had invented the "Brazilian butt lift," which takes fat from other parts of your body and stuffs it--you guessed it--in your butt.
1. USA
2. Brazil
3. South Korea
