Up to 200 million pigs to be culled or die from swine fever in China: Rabobank.....

Now here is some chini math for you....

quote:

China, which produces about half the world’s pork, this week said it had culled 1.01 million pigs to control the disease.

quote:

China’s pork production is seen at around 38 million tonnes in 2019 versus 54 million tonnes last year, Sherrard told Reuters, citing the company’s latest forecast.

Now lets see, you cull a million pigs, and your production goes down by 16 million tons. That would mean either...each pig you slaughtered weighed 16 tons...or you are lying and you have slaughtered a wee bit more than a million pigs.

Price of pork went up nearly 15% last month and expected to hit 70% by year end. They also have some worm disease affecting crops. Both of which are driving food inflation by over 6% at a time when you have devaled your current by about the same percentage. Seems the average chini is taking a pretty good haircut financially, and when your disposable income is about 10% thats gonna make things tight.

Seems ole Xi the grand putentate might be making the natives a wee bit restless.

Wonder if this is the CIAs handiwork? Social media in chini thinks so.

You cull 16 tons and what do you get?

They are not replacing inventory because of swine flu AND they slaughtered a million animals outside of normal consumption. The numbers are not necessarily wrong. Birth to slaughter on pigs is less than one year.

You cull sixteen tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

I was born one mornin' when the sun didn't shine
I picked up my shovel and I walked to the swine
I loaded sixteen tons in the number nine hole
And my Maoist boss said "Well, bless my soul"

love that song

too early in the AM to come up with parody lyrics about Chinese pigs

If the Razorbacks football team doesn't improve soon maybe they should be culled out of the conference.

African swine fever was first detected in Asia last August in China, the world’s largest pork producer, where the disease is expected to reduce the herd by up to 200 million pigs this year. LINK
Meh, 1 million, 200 million . . . . just a couple of hundred million pigs off. No biggie.

Meanwhile, has China not imposed a ~60% tariff on US pork?

As Mao said of his countrymen, "We think too small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well. If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view."

God is BIG, swine flu SMALL. See every cell of your body filled with divine light. Pour God's love on our immune systems. Truth protects.
