You're probably right, in large part. Of course, Flynn probably shouldn't have taken that action, and he certainly shouldn't have lied to the administration about it.
I think there is a fair chance a widespread investigation as to Flynn would uncover more nefarious dealings. I doubt the transcript of his December call(s) in question are going to be excessively damning. I think they'll show coordination as to how Russia should respond to the then-current Administration, which is fricked up. But I don't think it ultimately matters that much.
