I have a couple thoughts on this question:
1) as much as flynn is being targeted, I think flynn knows something detrimental to a lot of folks and he is the only one with such knowledge. This may mean he is the only person capable of legally pointing folks in the right direction without violating security clearances.
2) This would be such a huge event that Trump & Co would only get one shot to do it right and cannot afford to screw it up or let a dark asset in position to poison it. Just can't risk it with anyone else.
