Bombs dropped in Syria - why is this in the news?

Seriously, why is this "in the news". If target X was identified as being at location Y (typically halfway around the globe), it presented an articulatable , clear and present danger (or whatever the criteria is these days). Just take care of the problem, no running the press. Tomorrow target X just can't seem to be found, location Y is a smoking hole... problem solved.
Not to be construed with condoning or condemning the strike one way or the other.. but seems a smart person would just dummy up about it until absolutely necessary, and absolutely torch any leakers.

It’s an every week occurrence if you follow middle eastern/European news outlets like I do. We’ve Been dropping bombs on eastern Syria with the Israelis for a long time. Not sure why the media is blowing this up. Guess they all have a coordinated Effort underway to prop up Biden, because they though Iran and others were bout to make a big dick powermove
