Making up the rules and moving the goal posts.
An unloaded firearm is useless. Now most of mine are in my gun safe but there is always a rifle and a pistol in close proximity. There is only one time when you need a firearm, and that is when you need it right now. And it needs to be loaded. I have never heard of a criminal waiting for you to unlock the safe and load a magazine before assaulting you.
I keep most of mine locked up because I dont want some mope stealing them.
As General Mattis (who i dont really care for anymore) said: "Be polite, be courteous, show professionalism, and have a plan to kill everyone in the room".

I don’t know how old her children are but I’m going to guess they probably are more efficient at using those fire arms than the person that wrote that.
And I’m 99% they won’t touch those guns without their parents around in pure fear for their lives from proper training for their parents. Not saying that it’s for me to have guns laying around like that but I’m not throwing rocks either.

Always fun being lectured about responsible gun ownership by people who likely don't own guns.
FTR, I have two loaded weapons 2 feet from me right now. Difference is I actually teach my kids gun safety and proper respect for firearms.
