Breaks my heart....kids can be monsters. Unfortunately their shitty behavior starts at home. I have raised my little boy to be friendly to all and take up for anyone they see getting picked on.

It is highly likely that she did not commit suicide at age 9 because of taunting.

I am almost certain there are other important issues at play. I won’t speculate because it’s not fair to the little girl.

I will. I have some serious doubts. No doubt kids can be cruel but I wouldnt have even known how to hang myself at 9 years old. Probably couldnt have properly tied a knot to do so. I certainly wouldnt choose hanging if I did.

Taunting simply doesnt cause 9 year olds to kill themselves, else wed be seeing it all the damn time. Her autopsy should have checked for sexual abuse.

You rarely hear of black folks hanging themselves, much less kids doing it. Seems off to me that she did this to herself. Nonetheless, it's extremely sad and I hope angels took her before she felt anything.

Kids are ruthless, and that ruthless behavior starts at home.

And this.... this shouldn't fricking matter. The bullshite with adults has trickled down far enough to effect innocent children.

ETA - That wasn't directed at anyone. Just frustrated. I see the innocence with my 6 yo daughter and it scares me that this little girl was only a few years older...

Lol, so you want to do a comparison?
I have to say, this is not the route for you to take.

I have a 9 yr old daughter.
Couldn’t imagine this happening to me... or her.

We talk about things like bullying and what happened at school today, her friends what other kids are doing.
I just ty to be as engaged as possible.

Sad horrific situation for the family. God be with them during this time.

Truly a sad story. When I moved to Alabama in 2002 I didn't know what to think after living in Texas and Louisiana. I was soon introduced to the ugly truth of racism...it truly knows no bounds. In La and Texas I had heard all the racial slurs from whites directed at Hispanics and Blacks but not so much in return. I get to Alabama...and the racism is totally 180 degrees here. Even at the State Trooper/Law enforcement aspect. I had never heard the phrase, "If you're white, they will write" before moving here.

I really don't understand it. We are all human. Why do some people do these sorts of things? But on the flip side..there are some shining moments. For example, I found myself at home and more comfortable as a football official in the company of all black officials where I was the "token" white guy on the crew.

Racism is just stupid. And to contaminate children of that age with bigoted views in such a manner they bully another student....that's totally uncalled for and should not have any place in society.
