I agree it should be less and less important over time. It will continue to be used to torpedo Republican candidates, yet ignored in Democrat candidates going forward, just because.
In any event, in the past it implied a certain lack of moral strength and was a potential avenue to both influence or even coerce the elected/appointed official's behavior either using the mistresses themselves, or to threaten to reveal the nature of the relationship.
If everything is out in the open (and pretty much was with Clinton) the infidelity itself wasn't the core problem - it was the dishonesty and illegality surrounding the concealment of these relationships - that was what people had a problem with - that was my problem with the Lewinsky scandal - when POTUS, a lawyer, no less, suborns perjury and obstruction of justice - when he is the nation's chief executive office - I don't know how else to articulate why I believe he should be impeached.

She was already older here (40s) and you could tell she was a good-looking gal back in the day.

I've met Gennifer Flowers at Galatoire's. She hangs out around town a lot, apparently. She was cool as hell and took pictures and everything. Maybe I should have gone for it to say I'm eskimo brothers with Bill Clinton

She actually had her own club in the Quarter at one time. St. Louis St., I believe.

The more I read about the Cosby case the more I believe it really was not rape. More akin to prostitution. I'm not calling the women professional prostitutes but they knew who they were dealing with from the beginning and they knew there would be financial reward. And not a single won filed charges with the police.

It will be interesting to see if less than famous Lewinsky, takes the same course of action, accusing after the fact in attempt to gain back a shred of respect, the little fat face girl has to be near the end of her rope. I can just hear the womens talk show hens cackling how it's the fault of "the system" just like Brown rioters are yelping now.
