So everyone’s favorite fact checking website Snopes says in regards to Biden asking for Shokin to be fired...
So they are saying Biden wanted Shokin fired because he DIDN’T investigate Burisma for corruption? If he was so sure that Burisma was corrupt and Shokin should be fired for not investigating them then...
WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU BE OK WITH YOUR SON BEING PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY THAT COMPANY?
And just to remind you, Hunter Biden worked for Burisma until 2019
quote:
However, Shokin was not fired for investigating Burisma, but for his failure to pursue corruption investigations — including investigations connected to Burisma.

He’s literally on video saying it happened. There is no defense

Biden’s story: prosecutor wasn’t investigating corruption, so he wanted him gone or you don’t get the billion. So he wanted an investigation, but that prosecutor was corrupt
Trump’s story: wants an investigation into corruption in exchange for aid
Even if you believe Biden’s ridiculous slant of the story, it’s IDENTICAL to trump’s situation. But trump is bad and Biden is the swamp

Biden straight up quid pro quo to stop an investigation into his son
Trump asked for Ukraine president to honor a treaty and investigate corruption into the 2016 election. As an aside, he floated Biden bc Biden had admitted to his criminal activity on national tv. Like a fricking idiot

You expected different? I don't know if the guy made sense when he was all there just because I never really paid attention to him, but he ain't all there any more. I'm watching my extremely intelligent dad get old and start to slip, and it's only going to go in one direction unfortunately.

There is a very subtle but very important distinction that's left out: Biden's defense is really that Shokin wasn't investigating Burisma's founder aggressively enough....that investigation being almost wholly independent of Burisma the company itself.
So that was Biden et al's justification for Shokin's ouster. What I believe was the situation was that Shokin was set to start investigating Burisma the company itself, and that was derailed by his firing. Then Biden can conveniently reference Burisma in connection with its founder....but make no mistake, two separate investigation matters.

Can you explain further. How would it be independent of the company he owns?

Well, think of the present situation....Donald Trump is being investigated for "foreign corruption," technically, but it has nothing to do with the Trump Org. Yet some unsuspecting people could be duped into that connection. Or take the Trump tax situation....Trump's income tax information doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the running of the Trump Org proper. And irregularities in Trump's personal taxes doesn't necessarily mean the entirety of the Trump Org is to be investigated.
The scenario with Burisma's founder is one of separate personal gain involving corruption between himself and other entities or separate corrupt actors. Side gig, if you will. As circumstantial evidence seems to be the order of the day: Joe Biden knowing that Burisma's founder was under such heavy scrutiny, would Joe not grab Hunter up and out of Burisma if the previous investigations had been directed at the company itself??
ETA....look into Burisma's founder Mykola Zlochevsky. He was into many, many other things. Government posts included.
