Actually, Trump is crashing the economy with unemployment, inflation, tariffs and instability.
The U.S. economy has been deeply unhealthy for a long time. We are dependent on foreign imports, have a debt that is running away from us, and a growing number of people are either employed by the government or receive assistance of some kind. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that when you have more consumption than production, this isn’t a recipe for success, and that is what Trump and MAGA policies are trying to address.

This recession is on Trump’s WH if it happens. They’re actively seeking it out. Don’t piss on my boots and tell me it’s raining. The results will determine how people view it and results take time but we’re along for the ride like it or not.

Oh yeah, it's the other guy's fault that your guy wrecked the economy in 50 days.

John Barron said "I am just glad it is crashing now" in the OP, not I. I didn't say it was crashing, I only said I would rather it not crash.
The economy has been a house of cards for YEARS. First of all, the accounting government uses to calculate GDP is fricking stupid. Even the guy who came up w/ it said it's no way to measure the actual health of the economy. Second, inflation numbers are a fricking joke. Hedonic scoring and homeowner's equivalent rents HIDE the real inflation numbers, as does their non accounting for "shrinkflation". Lastly, the insane amount of debt/deficits that government keeps piling on all of us and the regulatory state completely frick up the price system. All kinds of malinvestments have been happening for decades and have only gotten worse over time.
This has been going on worldwide for a long time. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that things will blow up eventually, especially when actual cuts to government spending/influence are in the works.
Look at what Milei did. Their economy bounced back w/ the quickness after a recession that was caused by cuts and deregulation. Resources will be allocated to more efficient uses, which is the healing process. Does it suck in the short term? Yep. Is it better than the alternative of higher inflation? Absofrickingloutely.

Because that's what's important, right?
Yes. It’s important to show people the consequences to leftism.

Incorrect. This is all Bidenomics and letting 15 million illegal aliens into the country giving them EBT cards and free housing. The amount of fraud and abuse about to be revealed will be staggering. Biden won't get away with this

Iirc the majority of jobs "created" to lower the unemployment numbers were gubment jobs too.

Bidenomics is not due to quantitative easing, PPP loans, and direct checks to citizens in 2020 leading to runaway inflation. Also, recession directly caused by policies enacted by Trump are Bidenomics.
This is real MAGA NPC shite. What a frickin' hoot!

I hope so. That’s what Reagan did when he took office. He squeezed inflation out of the economy then cut interest rates and taxes and created the greatest wealth creation machine the world had ever seen. I hope Trump is doing similar. Put us into a short recession to bring down prices and inflation, then unleash the dogs.

Someone mentioned the truth being important earlier ITT. If that's so, then we should admit that we're feeling the consequences of actions starting with the last Bush administration, through the Obama administration, the first Trump administration, AND the Biden administration.
This we can certainly agree on. We have been on a bad trajectory for some time.
