Oh I understand it perfectly, hence why I'm making the payments. But I can simultaneously make my payments and acknowledge the fact that the student loan system overall is flawed for a variety of reasons, including the student loan contracts I signed. Just because the contract is legally-sound doesn't mean it is preferable for society (and based on the current crisis, these contracts aren't preferable in the aggregate).

So as I said, I won't lose sleep if my end of the bargain is altered in a positive way by the next Presidential administration. And if I don't personally benefit then that's fine, but at the very least, the student loan system needs to change for future students.
