It’s the reason why gun rights were right behind free speech in terms of importance of the founding fathers.

The amendments were not written in order of importance. The Bill of Rights was proposed with 12 amendments, the first two were never ratified. They were not the most important, obviously. The First Amendment was the first to be ratified, that's why it's the First Amendment.

Democrats think the 14th Amendment gives the President the power to override the power of the purse reserved for the Congress.
The majority of the SCOTUS will have a field day with Biden's interpretation of the 14th amendment.

To reference Andrew Jackson, “The court has made their decision, let us see them enforce it.”

The court will not save us from a dictator.

You have to be kidding! Any list, ever made by anyone, starts with the most important thing on their mind. There's a very big, and real reason why the 2nd amendment was what it was, just after guaranteeing freedom of speech, press, assembly, etc..

don't count on it - remember Roberts berating other justices behind closed doors about the anarchy that would ensue if they ruled as they should have recently?

lolwut? This dumbass probably flagged con law. Now he’s calling Lawrence (sorry “Laurence”—a grade a frickwad in his own right) “his ole pal Larry” and contemplating (I’m sure this is his own brilliant idea) using the Constitution to wipe his incontinent arse.

It’s truly hard to imagine a bigger sack of shite in office.

Eta: what’s Dershowitz think of this nonsense?

I’m reminded of Justice Jackson’s famous concurrence in Youngstown Sheet and Steel where he wrote that the president’s authority is at its lowest ebb when he purports to exercise power expressly reserved to the congress. That concurrence is almost poetic in its beauty. It should be required reading in school.

quote:

3. When the President takes measures incompatible with the expressed or implied will of Congress, his power is at its lowest ebb, for then he can rely only upon his own constitutional powers minus any constitutional powers of Congress over the matter. Courts can sustain exclusive presidential control in such a case only by disabling the Congress from acting upon the subject. Presidential claim to a power at once so conclusive and preclusive must be scrutinized with caution, for what is at stake is the equilibrium established by our constitutional system.

Clarence Thomas is going to bend the knee to Roberts?

Roberts is a joke to the conservatives on the bench. He knows it, and they know it.
