He didn't say that it was false. In fact, I haven't seen anyone associated with the story claim it was false. Biden, Hunter, the Dr. wife, etc could all come out and say that this is false and never happened.
Trump always addresses smear campaigns with, "It's false! Never happened! Fake news!" but nothing out of the Biden camp on this story.

I mean Hunter is clearly a manipulative narcissist who blames Joe for everything that’s wrong in his life. They’re having to be very careful. They don’t know exactly what Rudy may be holding, so they can’t be too explicit in their denials.
