Sure I do, but its the American ones who will be reaping these benefits.
No increased cost but they get to raise prices.

This is to fight China. China is trying to destroy Tesla and other American car manufacturers by flooding the market with extremely cheap electric vehicles. Chinese electric vehicles are complete dog shite.

Yes, it does.
Anybody who imposes tariffs artificially inflates prices on what they tariff.
Which is why I don't understand the people who run around saying, "IT'S NOT FAIR! They charge 25% and we only charge 3%! We've got to fix this."
Their citizens pay the 25%.
Ours pay the 3%.
The difference is in the size of their economies and the percentage of their population who is employed producing the domestic products they are trying to protect, and also in the relative level of historical commitment to free market economics.
Ours is the largest economy in the world, and we have a lot more consumers than we do producers of goods. I can't speak for anyone else, but it makes no sense at all for us to use the government to reward the few producers at the expense of the hundreds of millions of consumers.
Y'all constantly bitch about large corporations, but they are the winners in this tariff game.

I laughed so hard.
"Answer the question, dillhole! Answer the question ****! You can't, can you? Just take the L, you bitch! What's more expensive now as a result of the tariffs?"
(Provides list, along with documentation.)
"No, no, no, I said something that has to be bought EVERY DAY! If you don't have to buy it every day, then we can drive up the costs 100% and it won't count. (Just ignore that out of the 36 pages of bitching about home prices—which Trump's 2018 and 2019 tariffs did contribute toward driving up—I'm responsible for at least 20 pages worth all on my own)"
You can't possibly be more than 15 years old.

Ours pay the 3%.
The part you, and the others, conveniently ignore is people in that other country don't buy the cars with a 25% tariff, protecting their manufacturing base while they ship cars off to our shores with the middling 2% tariff.
You guys make your dishonesty so obvious.

I love sarcasm.
I’m being totally honest here: if my local competition is lessened or eliminated I guarantee my margins go up and we already have damn good margins to begin with. But the competition is the biggest driver in my playing nice.

And no, the tariffs is t why we ont export many autos. The exchange rates for
foreign buyers makes already expensive US cars completely uncompetitive.
If we really wanted to bananas trade, we be rolling the printing presses 24/7. Ye could completely eliminate the trade deficit in a matter of months. MAGA!
