this recent market bounce was an obvious trap promoted by the "inflation moderating" propaganda. sold quite a few puts in anticipation

Even with sharp drop in gas prices

"Energy prices fell 5% for the month, led by a 10.6% slide in the gasoline index. However, those declines were offset by increases elsewhere."

I paid $14.59 for a chicken shawarma salad yesterday. It used to be around $10 not long ago.

Just wait and see what happens if the Railroad does in fact shut down. I don't think congress would get together to pass anything to keep them working.

Shut it down for a week or two and watch what prices do.

Q: Are some businesses raising their prices even if their bottom line is unaffected by inflation, thereby taking unfair advantage of the upward inflation spiral?

I know that we’ve held prices on our services for a long time and it has impacted our bottom line. But we’ve informed a couple clients that prices will be going up or have now increased. There is only so much we’re going to absorb and we’ve hit that point.

Just wait...We haven't seen the transportation costs, due to the earlier high fuel prices, fully transfer down to the consumer. There will be some huge sticker shock come this fall's shopping season.

Do you have an example of a company that's bottom line has not been affected by inflation?

Yes, because a company's profit is never affected by increased costs.

Could you imagine the inflation number if gasoline didn’t drop? Teens easily. Maybe even mid-teens.

Now we know why Brandon let the SPR go wide-arse open all summer! LOL!

Also, this is completely on the government shutting down the economy and giving out free money during COVID.

Inflation is an after effect. Everyone still wants their free money. Supply chains were wrecked due to labor shortages and other stupid policies. Inventories depleted, only to be restocked at higher prices on surging demand.

All of this can be traced back to all of that BS…. Just to have mail in ballots to depose Orange Man.

Usually it is lying about the numbers and then adjusting them up after the fact and ignoring it.

It means this is bad enough they can’t deny it. Which means they are still probably downplaying how bad it is because they wouldn’t want to admit the scope of the problem.
