They’ll transmit once they have a deal with McConnell about how to handle the trial.

In two days you run into a very large problem.
Once Trump is out, there is a very legal question about whether they can even do the trial.
Second, although I doubt they care, the optics will be horrendous doing a stupid stunt in the middle of a "pandemic" rather than getting down to business.
I would be curious to see how many republicans would vote to impeach after the fact. Can you get 15? I doubt it. I'm not sure you can get all the democrats.

They will hold these articles over Trump's head for as long as possible simply to silence him.
As long as Trump is under this threat of Senate conviction he's going to have to watch his tongue.
Many Republicans dying for Trump to give them reasons to convict and Democrats just want Trump silenced.
This is all politics of the dirtiest variety.
