Arming teachers. Why won't it work?

To me, this is a common sense solution to the problem. It won't necessarily stop all school shootings, but it definitely will lesson the death toll.

EDIT: I'm not saying arm all teachers, just voluntarily.

So tell me why it won't work.

Most teachers are women, this isnt going to happen

Because we then worry about big kid takes gun from teacher.

Conceal carry. Why do you assume women can’t handle a firearm?

I’d rather they spend the money on real security.

We don’t even have to “arm” teachers. Why are teachers who are otherwise carrying guns lawfully everywhere BUT their school prohibited from carrying at school? It would cost nothing to just let them do the same thing they do everywhere else.

bullshite. Many teachers are men.

If you're worried about students getting the gun, put it in a safe.

Or put a deputy in every school instead of writing tickets from 8-3pm.

Have I been missing all the stories about women who conceal carry being disarmed out in the general public by big people? Why do we think that they’re suddenly going to be disarmed by big kids at school?

It’s not a teachers job to serve and protect. Will u give them a raise? What if the teachers don’t want to carry a gun? What if kids get the gun? What if the teachers gun goes off because they didn’t think it was loaded?

Professional law enforcement with actual applicable training overreact and discharge their firearms unnecessarily at times. You want to arm untrained individuals to identify threats and put down hostiles? No wonder people think you fricks are crazy

Or as they say in east Baton Rouge parish, put it behind the books.

You can let all the male teachers hold a rod, but you have to worry about one going off in a girl's hair.

Maybe we should try arming them with the school supplies they need before we graduate to firearms?

They are there to teach not carry guns. I agree on proper security to combat these killers.

We have changed airport security because of the changing threats, why not take school security to the next level?

Doesn’t have to be mandatory. Why don’t we start with just letting teachers who already have a permit do what they do everywhere else? What’s special about a school campus that they should not be able to carry?

Don’t carry a gun

Do everything possible to prevent this. Conceal carry is one thing or prevent it.

Why would the gun be unloaded?

The faculty at my son's school have been armed for some time. They even have signs posted, essentially saying don't try any bullsh*t here. It cause quite the uproar in media outlets around the country when it happened. But the extra piece of mind is worth it to me....Here's one of the articles written a few years back. LINK
