There is an article on Fox showing the numbers and they are impressive, but Id like to ask a question.........

Wouldnt removing 1000s of illegals and with them 10,000 of their kids who can barely speak english, much less understand the tests......wouldnt that kind of sort of move the curve?

They're picking crops and gutting chickens. Not to mention the crime/ carnage of the subdivisions in NWA

By the way, school enrollment is its lowest level in 20 years in Arkansas, and it isnt the voucher program causing it......the kids have left the country with their parents.

Governor Kemp loves to import them while pretending to be conservative. Northwest Georgia is loaded with Hispanics as are most of the low income area schools

The school choice should help . Kids that are willing to learn now have a chance to go to a better school .

tjv,

You bring up a good point, now here is the liberal view. Its a 7,000 USD voucher, 47,000 families are taking advantage. The vast majority ALREADY had their child in private school, so you just handed "rich" folks 7K.

No those same "rich" folks had been paying 7K to send their kid to private school AND paying taxes to send some other kids to public school. Now they are not having to pay twice.

That might be more of a population demographic issue than just illegals leaving the country.

The birth rate dramatically lowered around 18 to 20 years ago. That might be driving school enrollment more than anything else right now.
